Harry Clarke began his career as an apprentice stained glass artist. He quickly developed a unique style that was influenced by Art Nouveau and the Pre-Raphaelites. Clarke's use of bold colors and intricate patterns quickly gained him recognition as a leading stained glass artist of his time.In addition to his work in stained glass, Clarke was also an accomplished illustrator. He illustrated many books of Fairy Tales, including Hans Christian Andersen's Fairy Tales and Grimm's Fairy Tales. Clarke's illustrations are known for their dark and mysterious themes. He often used symbolic imagery to convey the hidden meanings of the stories he was illustrating.
